PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for contents reproduction and distribution which distribute contents to only users having recording media reproduced in the past within a specific range. SOLUTION: A contents reproducing device sends a contents distribution request, given a notice code indicating that a reproduction output means reproduces and outputs a recording medium, a code for identifying the recording contents, and a code for identifying a service user are given, to a contents distributing device, which previously receives a notice code indicating that a storage medium is reproduced and outputted from the contents reproducing device and distributes the requested contents to the contents reproducing means when the distribution request for contents is received from the contents reproducing device and the notice code indicating that the same contents with the distribution requested contents are reproduced and outputted is outputted within a certain past period, but does not distribute the requested contents when the notice code is not outputted.
