PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a scanner function, capable of being longitudinally and laterally mounted so as to save the space so as to quickly and surely set a scanning original. SOLUTION: The printer is characterized in that the printer has a flat scanner part continuous to at least a box shaped printer unit and a scanner cover pivotally mounted to nearly a lower end of the scanner part, the scanner unit can be used by being stood upright by using the box shaped printer unit for a base, and the scanner part is placed at a tilt state by a prescribed angle in a direction opposite to an open side of the scanner cover in a longitudinally set state.
