PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mounting an optical filter with high accuracy, in an optical filter module having the optical filter inserted and mounted to the passage of an optical waveguide so that adjustment of the optical axes between input and output optical fibers is reduced and that the optical filter to be inserted is little displaced. SOLUTION: Precise V-grooves 10, 11 are formed on the principal planes of upper and lower planar substrates 3, 5 so that optical fibers protrude. Optical fibers are mounted on one planar substrate, while a multilayer film filter 2 is inserted into a filter insertion groove 1 formed to cross the precise V-groove on the principal plane of the other planar substrate. Then the multilayer film filter 2 is held by two substrates 3, 5 to be fixed and mounted by using the protruding optical fibers and the precise V-groove on the other substrate as guide rails.
