PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament yarn winder adopted with a tension detective system, ensuring accurate yarn tension value to be obtained irrespective of filament yarn package diameter. SOLUTION: This filament yarn winder includes a bobbin holder H mounted with a bobbin B for winding a filament yarn S thereon, a contact roller C rotating in contact with a filament yarn package P, a traversing device T set upstream of the contact roller C and functioning to traverse the filament yarn S delivered, a traverse supporting guide 1 serving as the traverse support for the filament yarn S traversed upstream of the traversing device T, and a tension detector 3 located between the traversing device T and the traverse supporting guide 1 and functioning to detect the tension of the filament yarn S located on both ends of the traverse amplitude on contacting it with a contactor 4; wherein the respective distances between the traverse supporting guide 1 and the tension detector 3 and the traversing device T are made constant irrespective of the diameter of the filament yarn package P.
