PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elastic woven or knitted fabric exhibiting excellent elasticity and elastic recovery without causing slippages, and suitable as a cushioning material. SOLUTION: This elastic woven or knitted fabric obtained by combining a polyether-ester-based elastic yarn as at least one part has the following properties: (1) the stress at 10% elongation in at least either one direction in warp and weft directions is 100-600 N/5 cm width, and the elastic recovery after 15% elongation is >=75%; and (2) the ratio [ST1/ST2 (wherein, ST1 is the stress at 10% elongation in either one direction in the warp and weft directions; and ST2 is the stress at 10% elongation in the other direction; with the proviso that ST1>=ST2)] of stresses at 10% elongation in the warp and weft directions of the woven or knitted fabric is <=5. The elastic woven or knitted fabric is produced by knitting or weaving yarns by arranging the elastic yarns comprising two kinds or more polyether-ester-based elastomers having different melting points at least at a part, and heat-treating the woven or knitted fabric at a temperature at which the polyether-ester-based elastomer component having the lower melting point is softened or melted.
