摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method by which an image is excellently formed without causing fogging and the lowering of image density even in the case of developing the image under alternating electric field by providing an image carrier the volume resistivity of the surface layer of which is adjusted to be about 10<9> to 10<14> &Omega;.cm such as an amorphous silicon drum. SOLUTION: In this image forming method, the image carrier having a low resistance layer the surface resistivity of which is 10<9> to 10<14> &Omega;.cm is electrified and exposed to form an electrostatic latent image, and the latent image is developed with two-component developer carried on a developer carrier incorporating a magnet and including toner and magnetic carrier the volume resistance value of which is 10<6> to 10<10> &Omega;.cm at a developing part where the image carrier and the developer carrier are opposed under a condition that developing bias including DC voltage on which AC voltage is superimposed is applied, whereby the image is formed. In the method, the volume resistance value of the surface of the developer carrier is >=1&times;10<-1> &Omega;.cm and <=1&times;10<2> &Omega;.cm.
