PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital subscriber transmission system equipped with a concrete training method for an ADSL transceiver or means for implementing such a training method and a communication device to be used therefor. SOLUTION: In the digital subscriber's line transmission system, in which a station side device and a subscriber side device communicate through an existent telephone line, each of station side device (ATU-C) and subscriber side device (ATU-R) has an independent counter and that counter has a function for counting the number of DMT symbols by counting DMT symbol clocks continuously prescribed times.
