PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely prevent occurrence of arc discharge shortening the lifetime of a contact and prevent damage to the contact by a means that can be mounted in a general connector. SOLUTION: A long contact and a short contact are mounted in an electric connector so as to be connected between a power supply source and a load through the same electric line, and arc discharge occurring when the electrical connector is disconnected is prevented. When the short contact forms a small- resistance path between the power supply source and the load and the connector is connected, current is supplied through the path to the load. An electrical part such as an FET or a resistor having a positive temperature coefficient is connected to the long contact, and arc discharge of the short contact is prevented by making sufficient current flow into the electrical part when the short contact is disconnected. When the long contact is then disconnected, the electrical energy of the long contact is adjusted to be lower than a threshold value of the arc discharge.
