PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable ready setting of a plurality of light paths through a plurality of light paths are formed in a weft passage area. SOLUTION: This feeler head comprises a light-projecting part directing light to the weft passage area, one or more light guide members arranged so as to pass the light from the light-projecting part through the weft passage area plural times and a light-receiving part arranged oppositely to outgoing part of light of the light guide member while interposing the weft passage area so as to receive light from the light guide member. The light guide member includes an optical fiber for receiving light projected from the light-projecting part to the weft passage area in an incoming part of light opposed to the light projecting part while interposing the weft passage area, changing the direction of the received light, guiding the light and directing the light to the weft passage area.
