Cosmetic composition comprises a 3-32C branched/linear (un)saturated optionally ethoxylated alcohol, a 3-32C branched/linear (un)saturated carboxylic acid and an esterifying enzyme. The acid and the alcohol are optionally substituted and have a carbon total of at least 8C. Cosmetic composition comprises a 3-32C branched/linear (un)saturated optionally ethoxylated alcohol of formula (I), a 3-32C branched/linear (un)saturated carboxylic acid of formula (II) and an esterifying enzyme. The acid and the alcohol are optionally substituted with a carbon total of at least 8C. R1-OH (I) R2-COOH (II) R1 = 3-32C branched/linear (un)saturated optionally ethoxylated alkyl; and R2 = 3-31C branched/linear (un)saturated alkyl. Independent claims are included for: (1) a kit comprising at least two compartments with each one containing one or two components selected from (I), (II) and an esterifying enzyme; (2) cosmetic treatment for hair to impart shine and softness by mixing the components of the above kit, applying the resulting composition to the hair, allowing it to act for 1-60 minutes at 20-65 deg C and optionally rinsing it off with water.
