PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sensor element crack by retarding an intrusion of a waterdrop intruding into an outer protector into an inner protector. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas sensor comprises a protector covering a sensor element 2. The protector has a double structure consisting of the inner protector 6 forming a sensor chamber 22 and the outer protector 5 forming an intermediate chamber 23 outside the inner protector 6. The outer protector 5 and the inner protector 6 have pluralities of vent holes 10 and 20 in non-overlapping positions respectively. The inner protector 6 has guiding means 19 for guiding droplets toward discharge portions, in positions corresponding to the vent holes 10 of the outer protector 5. |
