PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material, a sealing material for a light-emitting diode and an electronic material having high light resistance durability and toughness and the light-emitting diode using the materials. SOLUTION: A composition for the optical material is composed of a curable composition comprising (A) an organic compound at least 2 carbon-carbon double bonds having reactivity with SiH groups in one molecule, (B) a compound having at least the 2 SiH groups in one molecule and (C) a hydrosilylating catalyst as essential components. The component (A) is the organic compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R<1> denotes a 1-50C monovalent organic group) and the component (B) is a chain siloxane compound containing the SiH groups at both terminals. The composition for the optical material or composition for the electronic material is obtained from the curable composition which is a reactional product of the chain siloxane compound containing the SiH groups at both the terminals with the component (A).
