PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for compensating the influence of transmission delay time fluctuation in UMTS mode. SOLUTION: The time base error of a dual mode mobile telephone set is corrected by measuring (6) the time of arrival of a signal and comparing (8) that time with an expected time (2) of arrival. Namely, the time base error is corrected by using measurement errors (10 and 11). The expected time of arrival is corrected (4) by using an average time base error. The average time base error is obtained from measurement errors measured for a predetermined period (14). |
