CASSETTE FOR RADIOGRAPHY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette for radiography which greatly improves the image quality of a radiation image by effectively removing scattering rays. SOLUTION: The cassette 10 for IR radiography having a casing 11 to house a stimulable phosphor sheet 20 has a metallic foil 13 composed of metals above the atomic number 20 or alloys above an effective atomic number 20 between a front surface plate 11b of the casing 11 and the stimulable phosphor sheet 20. The average radiation transmittance in a local segment of an area 1 mm<2> arbitrarily extracted from the surface of the metallic foil 13 is 1/10 to 10 times the average radiation transmittance in the entire surface area and the thickness thereof is 5 to 200μm.
