PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant avoiding increase of surface energy and decrease of a coating ratio with maintaining strong adhesiveness with the surface of a magnetic recording medium and provide the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: This lubricant for magnetic recording medium contains a perfluoropolyether-based compound which is a salt compound of a carboxylic acid with a perfluoropolyether having a terminal amino group and expressed by formula (1) (wherein Rf expresses a perfluoropolyether group; Ra expresses a partially fluorinated hydrocarbon group or a fuluorinated carbon group; R1 and R2 express each H, a hydrocarbon group, a partially fluorinated hydrocarbon group or a fluorinated carbon group) or formula (2) (wherein Rf expresses a perfluoropolyether group; Ra expresses a partially fluorinated hydrocarbon group or a fuluorinated carbon group; R3 , R4 , R5 and R6 express each H, a hydrocarbon, a partially fluorinated hydrocarbon group or a fluorinated carbon group). |
