PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen cup holder that can repetitively easily hold a specimen cup used for a sensor utilizing attenuated total reflection in a highly stable state with accuracy of position without requiring any special working. SOLUTION: This specimen cup holder is provided with a holder main body 20 having receiving surfaces 21 and 22 which are coincident with the external side faces 10a and 10b of the specimen cup 10 as reference surfaces and a pushing member 30 which pushes the bottom face of the cup 10 toward the receiving surfaces 21 and 22 from obliquely downside by the positions facing the external side faces 10a and 10b. The pushing means 30 positions the specimen cup 10 by closely adhering the external side faces 10a and 10b of the cup 10 to the receiving surfaces 21 and 22 and pushing up the cup 10 along the receiving surfaces 21 and 22 and, in addition, bringing the upper end face 10h of the pushed-up cup 10 into contact with a retaining plate 23.
