PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized and compacted gas generating system. SOLUTION: The gas generating system comprises a water electrolysis unit 1 having an anode side and a cathode side separated from each other by a solid electrolyte film, and generating gas from at least one of the cathode side or the anode side through supplying pure water to the water electrolysis unit 1, the system also comprises arranging gas liquid separation units 2 and 4 for separating gas and liquid of the mixture fluid consisting of the generated gas and pure water, between the water electrolysis unit 1 and a using site of the generated gas, and in that the gas liquid separation units 2 and 4 have a collision separation part, adjusting means 2A, 2L, 4A, and 4L for the water level, which can keep the liquid level in the gas-liquid separation units to nearly a stationary state.
