PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at downsizing of a housing after securing the locking force of a terminal fittings. SOLUTION: A receiving member 40 is enabled to be installed at the tip of a tower part 21 of a female housing 20. A bending regulating plate 50 enabled to enter a bending space 29 of a lance 27 is protrudingly installed, and a receiving face 51 dented for one grade is formed at its tip. If the receiving member 40 is retained at a temporary locking position, the receiving face 51 responds while opening some spaces downward of the tip of the lance 27. If a female side terminal fittings 10 is inserted into a cavity 26, the tip side of the lance 27 first is bent downward, and is deformed. If the lance is bent and deformed by a prescribed amount, because the tip of the lance 27 hits the receiving face 51, on and after that, the lance 27 is in a condition of being supported by the both tip side and the base end side, and the center part of the longitudinal direction is bent and deformed like a cave-in in the bending space 29. If the female side terminal fittings 10 is inserted into the normal position, the lance 27 is restored from the deformation, and a locking protrusion 28 is locked at a chin part 16.
