PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing discoloration of a seed extract from Aesculus hippocastanum L., and a water-borne cataplasm free from discoloring. SOLUTION: This method for preventing discoloration of the seed extract from the Aesculus hippocastanum L. comprises making a tar dye exist in a water-borne base containing the seed extract from the Aesculus hippocastanum L. The water-borne cataplasm is obtained by formulating the water-borne base containing the seed extract from the Aesculus hippocastanum L. with the tar dye for preventing the discoloration.
