PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new immunocyte-activating material which is obtained from ocean water. SOLUTION: This immunocyte-activating material is contained in a polar solvent- soluble component which is passed into a polar solvent from a material dissolved in the ocean water (a ocean water-dissolved material) to a polar solvent phase by making the polar solvent contact with the ocean water-dissolved material separated from the ocean water. The immunocyte-activating agent is obtained by a method for obtaining the immunocyte-activating material in a high concentration which comprises a process for separating the ocean water-dissolved material from the ocean water, another process for passing a polar solvent-soluble material contained in the ocean water-dissolved material into the polar solvent phase by making the separated ocean water-dissolved material contact with the polar solvent, a third process for separating the polar solvent phase from a component insoluble in the polar solvent, and the other process for obtaining an eosinophil-activating material contained in a polar solvent-soluble component by removing the polar solvent from the separated polar solvent phase. The immunocyte-activating material, especially the eosinophil- activating material, is effective for treating atopic dermatitis. |
