PURPOSE: Provided are a novel 1H-indole derivative as a highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor and its pharmaceutically acceptable salt. It is useful as a therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases, such as enteritis, peptic ulcer, stomach ulcer, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, etc. CONSTITUTION: The 1H-indole derivative is represented by the formula(1), wherein X is NO2, NH2R -NHSO2R, wherein R is hydrogen or C1-C3-alkyl; Y is hydrogen or halogen, or represents halogen substituted or nonsubstituted C1-C3-alkyl, NO2, NH2, OH, OMe, CO2H or CN; and Q represents C=O, C=S or CH2.
