PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a shape without any part protruding largely in a flexible substrate to mount a light source, and to obtain a liquid crystal display device using the same. SOLUTION: A belt shaped part 9 is formed by slitting up the flexible substrate 1 to form an elongate slit 7 and the light source 5 is equipped on the belt shape part 9. Thereby no part protruding to a large extent exists because the belt shaped part 9 having the light source 5 equipped thereon exhibits a shape nearly parallel to a shape of a principal part 8 occupying a large part of the flexible substrate 1 and the light source 5 is arranged so a to make the light from the light source 5 incident on a light body 4 while being at least one time folding back in the belt shaped part 9.
