PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal protector capable of responding to a request for further miniaturization and suitability for a higher current. SOLUTION: This thermal protector is provided with a flat case 1, two fixed contacts 2, 2 which are positioned at both end parts along one direction of the inner bottom surface of the case 1 and are connected to each terminal 20 extended toward the outside of the case 1, a movable piece 30 having elasticity, both end parts of which face the fixed contacts 2, 2 and which is stored in the case 1 with movable contacts 3, 3 at the both end parts brought into contact with the corresponding fixed contacts 2 by prescribed elastic force, and a bimetal 4 stored between the inner bottom surface of the case 1 and the movable piece 30 in a condition wherein when it is reversely actuated at a prescribed temperature the movable piece 30 can be deformed so as to separate each movable contact 30 from the corresponding fixed contact 2.
