PURPOSE: A turbine airfoil with enhanced heat transfer is provided to cool the internal cavity of the airfoil for optimizing the efficiency of an engine by minimizing the amount of compressor bleed air required. CONSTITUTION: A turbine airfoil(30) with enhanced heat transfer includes a leading edge(34), a trailing edge(36), a pressure side wall and a suction side wall. The pressure side wall is connected to the suction side wall at the leading edge and the trailing edge and is spaced apart from each other therebetween to define a cavity extending longitudinally between a root and a tip of the airfoil into which cooling air is flowable from an end of the cavity. The cavity has an inner surface(38), and plural indentations in the inner surface.
