PURPOSE: A tilting device of a steering column for a vehicle is provided to reduce the cost of parts and the assembling cost by improving the joining structure of a tilting hinge unit. CONSTITUTION: In a tilting device of a steering column for a vehicle, the middle part of a tilting bracket is fixed to a mounting bracket(3) and a steering column is disposed to the inner upper side of the tilting bracket. The tilting bracket is fixed to the lower side of the mounting bracket. A lever bracket(6) interlocked with a lever and adhered closely to the outer surface of the tilting bracket is installed. A tilting hinge unit(7) is formed, passing through the sides of the tilting bracket and the lever bracket. The tilting hinge unit forms cylindrical hinge-joining parts on both sides of an outer tube(8) and forms through holes(10) on both sides of the lever bracket and the tilting bracket. A hinge bolt(11) is joined after uniting the hinge-joining parts and the through holes. At the front end side of the hinge bolt, a lock nut(15) is disposed. The inner surface of one side of the lock nut is screwed on the hinge bolt, the outer surface of the other side contacts the through holes, and the inner surface of the other side contacts the hinge bolt.
