PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the driving method and the driving device of a liquid crystal display device whose picture quality is enhanced. SOLUTION: This driving method and the driving device of the liquid crystal display device modify source data by deriving a modification data band including at least two modification data centered on a gray level so as to be close to the gray level value of the source data and by deriving modification data to be set that are positioned between modified data by executing the first and the second approximation in mutually orthogonal two axis directions in the modification data band.
