PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic wood capable of obtaining thixotropy suitable for an extrusion molding without increasing the amount of a compatibility agent and also securing a desired strength. SOLUTION: This compound constituting the synthetic wood 10 contains a matrix resin 11 consisting of a polypropylene, a cellulose-based filler 12 such as crushed wood powder, etc., a maleic acid-modified polypropylene as the compatibility agent and attactic polypropylene. The compatibility agent and attactic polypropylene have a function for increasing the close adhesion of the matrix resin 11 with the filler 12. By extrusion-molding the compound with an extrusion molder, the synthetic wood 10 having a prescribed cross sectional shape is produced. The compatibility agent is added by approximately 0.5% in weight ratio. The attactic polypropylene is added by 0.5-2.5% in weight ratio.
