Image processing device comprises an input for receiving a temporal set of data representing volumetric digital images, pre-processing of said data and comparison of data in order to detect variations in time of image elements. The data comparison comprises a modeling function (12) able to adjust a parameter model and a statistical analysis function (14) for isolating data pairs that represent a significant variation. An Independent claim is made for a method for processing temporal sequences of medical image data in order to detect significant variations in the images over time.
