PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a television according to motion data of a user are provided to control the television according to quantity of the motion, thereby realizing a long term regular exercise according to a set exercise target to watch the television. CONSTITUTION: A motion sensing part(3) inputs motion data according to a motion state of a user. An input part(2) inputs user's personal information. A video/voice signal interrupting part(4) interrupts video/voice signals under the control of a control part(1). An OSD(On Screen Display) part(7) shows information to be reported to the user on a display part(8). A video/voice processor(5) amplifies and converts the video/voice signals to be appropriate for being used at a speaker part(6) and the display part. The display part sends a picture by using the video signal. The speaker part outputs sounds by using the voice signal. The control part receives the motion data of the user from the motion sensing part, and compares the motion data with the user's personal information. If the motion data is appropriate or inappropriate for the user's personal information, the control part controls the video/voice signal interrupting part to enable the user to watch a TV or stop the user from watching the TV. |
