PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starting device for a vehicle, etc., capable of making starting of an engine through remote operation in a cold place to be followed by warmup operation and allowing the user to confirm whether the engine is started. SOLUTION: A telephone set 1 located apart from the vehicle is used as a remote control transmitter, and the user receives the remote operation signal transmitted by the telephone set 1 using his on-vehicle telephone set 2. The information is fed to the on-vehicle telephone set 2, and an execute order is given from a starter drive part 13 to a starter device 20 on the basis of the contents of the remote operation signal, and the engine is started. A start control part 10 including the described processing parts controls the starter deice 20 so that the voltage (DCV) of a car battery drives a starter motor 22 with turning-on of a starter motor switch 21. A start sensing part 14 senses whether the engine is started and emits the result as a monitor signal (M), which is notified to the user possessing the telephone set 1 via his on-vehicle telephone set 2.
