PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video stream reproduction system suitable for a video-on- demand service where video is distributed according to on-demand and reproduced. SOLUTION: The video stream reproduction system is provided with a video receiver 41 for displaying video data; a communication cable 61 through which the video data are transferred; a terminal 51 for connecting the communication cable to the video receiver; and an intermediate storage server 30 comprising a gateway 31 for connecting the communication cable to a network and a large capacity storage device 32 for storing the downloaded video data.
