WATER-REPELLENT TREATMENT COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of water-repellent treatment composition because the water-repellent agent including dimethylpolysiloxane as a major component has poor persistency and the water-repellent agent including a fluoroalkylsilane as a major component shows poor water-dropping off or -sliding down properties. SOLUTION: Dimethylpolysiloxane is treated with an acid and the treated product is allowed to react with an alkylsilane to obtain the water-repellent treatment agent having excellent water drop repellency, water drop-sliding down properties and persistency.
