PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change a damping factor, a transmissibility of vibration, a reflectance, and frequency characteristics thereof and to allow the vibration of a specified frequency to be damped or reflected. SOLUTION: In this vibration control element inserted into a propagation route of the vibration, or attached to a vibration body, to damp, reflect or transmit the vibration of an optional frequency, a coil 2 is provided in the periphery of a magnetostrictive substance 1, negative inductance circuits A, B are connected to the coil 2, and absolute values and loss factors of inductances in the circuits A, B are regulated properly to change optionally an apparent elastic modulus and elastic loss of the magnetostrictive substance 1 in the optional frequency.
