PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which suppresses a fogging due to enhanced sensitivity while enhancing photographic sensitivity and is less liable to increase the fogging even when stored at a high temperature and a high humidity and under such severe conditions that it is exposed to harmful gas produced in combustion, such as automobile exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This silver halide emulsion is characterized in containing at least one compound which is subjected to a one electron oxidation to form a one electron oxidized body capable of further releasing two or more electrons while being accompanied with the subsequent bond cleavage reaction (fragmentation).
