PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for the hair, having excellent hair- conditioning activities, hardly causing irritation, mild to the hair and the scalp, and having good biodegradability. SOLUTION: This composition for the hair is obtained by formulating (A) a bisamide cation type surfactant, (B) an amide-amine compound, (C) a neutralizer of the amide-amine compound, and (D) a higher alcohol regulated so that content of the component (A) is 0.1-10 wt.%, the content of the component (B) is 0.1-5 wt.%, the content of the component (C) is 0.5-2 eq. per eq. of the component (B), and the content of the component (D) is 1.0-10 wt.%.
