PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether a fault is caused by a breaker or a breaker restoring device by a remote control, if the breaker restoring device is not operated anymore by the remote control when restoring the breaker by the remote control. SOLUTION: In this method for restoring the breaker, the switch 2 of the breaker is surrounded by rotating a pair of rotatable switch holding plates 42A, 42B located on one side of the breaker 1, the switch of the breaker is moved from a cutoff holding position 2A1 to a cutoff holding state releasing position 2A2 by moving this switch holding plate by a switch holding plate operating part 30, and the switch is thrown again by moving it to the home position 2A3 of the switch during normal time by reversing it again. The location of fault in the breaker is discriminated from a situation wherein the excessive current of a motor in the breaker restoring device is generated.
