CALIBRATION APPARATUS AND CALIBRATION METHOD FOR ADAPTIVE ARRAY ANTENNA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A calibration apparatus and a calibration method are provided to allow the parameter calculated in the receiving mode to be used in the transmitting mode, while achieving improved efficiency of data communication. CONSTITUTION: A calibration apparatus comprises an additional antenna(310) for transmitting a signal for calibration to a plurality of receiving antennas(330); a plurality of transmitting antennas(331) for transmitting the signal to the additional antenna; the receiving antennas for receiving the signal from the additional antenna; and a calibration unit(370) for correcting phase difference in such a manner that the receiving mode and the transmitting mode of the adoptive array antenna system have the same phase characteristics, with respect to the signal transmitted by the transmitting antennas and the signal received by the receiving antennas.
