PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that double images/ghost images are undesirably superposed on normal projection images and displayed. SOLUTION: This projection type display is provided with a refraction total reflection Fresnel lens plate 10C for providing a projection light flux 50 with optical actions as refraction/reflection of a refraction total reflection Fresnel surface cast on an incident plane and for emitting light from a light-emitting surface 15, a stray light removing plate 20 to be constituted of a condensing lens array 21 formed by arranging unit lenses on the incident plane of a translucent substrate 22 with cyclic structure in up and down directions and black stripes 23 formed by alternately arranging transparent parts 201 provided in the vicinity of condensing points of the unit lenses and opaque parts 200 provided around the light condensing points of the unit lenses on the light-emitting surface of the transmission substrate 22 with the cyclic structure in the up and down directions and an image display plate 30 consisting of a lenticular lens 31 formed by arranging the unit lenses on the incident plane of a transmission substrate 32 for scattering the light flux by scattering characteristics of the stray light removing plate 20 with the cyclic structure in a horizontal direction.
