PURPOSE: A vacuum fluorescent display is provided to achieve improved screen quality by maintaining the pixel pitch fine through the improvement of grid fixing state. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum fluorescent display comprises a first substrate; a wire layer formed on the first substrate; an insulation layer formed on the wire layer; a fluorescent layer(38) formed on the insulation layer and electrically connected to the wire layer; a second substrate spaced apart from the first substrate and disposed in such a manner that the second substrate is substantially parallel to the first substrate, wherein the second substrate cooperates with the first substrate to form a vacuum container; a grid(50) disposed over the fluorescent layer in such a manner that a predetermined spacing is formed between the grid and the fluorescent layer, wherein the grid indirectly contacts the first substrate; a spacer coupled to the grid, and which fixes the grid on the substrate; a conductive member electrically connected to the grid and the wire layer, and which permits external voltage to be applied to the grid; and a plurality of cathode electrodes disposed between the grid and the second substrate.
