Heat-insulating, load-bearing construction element for buildings comprises a multilayer structure having at least one outer shell (1) made of a load-bearing material, at least one inner shell (2) made of a load-bearing material, and at least one insulating layer (3) arranged between the outer and inner shells. The outer and inner shells are connected to each other by shear connectors of low heat conductivity extending through recesses or intermediate chambers in the insulating layer. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing the above heat-insulating, load-bearing construction element. Preferred Features: The shear connector is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The outer and inner shells are made of concrete or light-weight concrete. The insulating layer is a vacuum insulating layer consisting of evacuated hollow bodies, especially microporous or nanoporous particles.
