A mechanism and a method for forming liquid crystal flow capable of forming industrially available liquid flow and an object moving mechanism using liquid crystal flow, the liquid crystal flow forming mechanism comprising a flow passage L, liquid crystal LC installed movably along the wall surface B of the flow passage L, and a liquid crystal molecule rotating means for rotating the liquid crystal molecules m of the liquid crystal L within the surface of the flow passage L crossing the wall surface B, wherein the liquid crystal flow caused when the liquid crystal molecules m of the liquid crystal L are rotated is utilized, whereby, since the liquid crystal flow having a flow rate exceeding zero can be generated along the wall surface B when the liquid crystal molecules B are rotated within the surface crossing the wall surface B of the flow passage L by a liquid crystal molecule rotating means CB, the liquid crystal flow can be easily used for an obstacle moving device, sensors, and actuators.
