<p>In a communication system capable of establishing a communication of one (transmitting station) to n (receiving stations) by use of an ARQ technique, if the transmitting station, while assigning a communication channel to at least one of the receiving stations and making a continuous transmission of frames (data units), receives, from one of the receiving stations with which the transmitting station is making communication, a request for retransmission of a particular frame, it changes the communication with the receiving station requesting for the foregoing retransmission from the continuous transmission to SAW, which is one of ARQ techniques, and thereafter retransmits the particular frame by use of the SAW. Meanwhile, the transmitting station assigns a communication channel to another receiving station, taking advantage of the reduction of the transmitted frames because of the SAW, and gives a higher priority to the communication with the other receiving station. When recognizing a response signal indicative of a normal reception of the retransmitted particular frame, the transmitting station returns the communication with the receiving station that requested for the foregoing retransmission to the continuous transmission, and gives a higher priority to the communication with this receiving station again.</p> |
