<p>In a receiver, the method of detection is chosen according to the relationship between the desired signal and an interfering signal. A part of the received signal block is identified as containing known symbols, and on the basis of these symbols, the detection method for the known part of the block is chosen. If a discontinuity in the iterference is detected within the unknown part of the block, then the chosen detection method is used for that part of the block between the known part and the discontinuity, and a further method is used for the remainder of the block.</p> |
