LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

A lubricating oil composition which comprises (A) a base oil for a lubricating oil, (B) calcium salicylate having a total base number of 50 to 300 mg KOH/g in an amount of 0.005 to 0.07 mass % in terms of calcium element, (C) a SP type extreme−pressure additive in an amount of 0.005 to 0.07 mass % in terms of phosphorus element, (D) a specific succinimide derivative in an amount of 0.1 to 6 mass % and (E) a boron−containing ashless dispersant in an amount of 0.001 to 0.05 mass % in terms of boron element, the percentages being relative to the total amount of the composition. The lubricating oil composition allows the prevention of pitching of a transmission, resulting in the increase of the fatigue life thereof, and exhibits satisfactory performance capability to prevent shuddering and also the capability to maintain the performance capability to prevent shuddering for a long period of time, and thus can be suitably used particularly for an automatic transmission and/or a non−stage transmission.
