The invention relates to a jack for a motor vehicle, comprising a support element (1) which is arranged on a lifting part, the upper side of said support element being cylindrically embodied with an axis extending parallel to the length of the vehicle. The aim of the invention is to develop said jack in such a way that the support element can be easily connected to the lifting part, and the forces from the vehicle to be lifted can be introduced into the lifting part without causing any torque load on the support element. To this end, the support element (10) is connected to the end of the lifting part by means of a snap catch connection.
