The deicer is for a room air cooler which has an evaporator containing a coolant. The cooler has a flap which can pivot between open and closed position with respect to the airflow opening. The flap has an actuator with a pull cable (2) attached to the cooler housing (1). The motor driven cable is connected at one end to the flap and at the other to the housing.
