A method for correcting the strain of an image by a lens in a digitizing system which enables the correction of the image strain even when the image is formed by a lens focusing system and a correcting apparatus. A correcting apparatus for the strain of an image by a lens in a digitizing system comprises a lens imager 21 in a digitizing system, a pinhole imager 22 in the digitizing system, and a data processor 31 for correcting data from the lens imager 21 on the basis of data from the pinhole imager 22.
