The fuel injector (1) has an injector body (2) and a relatively displaced jet needle (5) operated via a control space (22) pressurized via a feed throttle (21) and vented via a discharge throttle under control of a magnetic valve (9) positioned above the control space. The discharge throttle is provided within the jet body (3), below the control space.
