CONNECTOR FOR FLAT CABLE

A connector for a flat cable, comprising a conductive contact (4), a first insulator (1) for holding the contact, and a cable−side insulator, for holding a flat cable (6), attachable/detachable to/from the first insulator. The cable−side insulator comprises a second insulator (2) for receiving the flat cable, a third insulator (3) disposed so as to face the second insulator via the flat cable, and a clamp (7) interposed between the flat cable and the third insulator. When the cable−side insulator is mounted on the first insulator, the second and third insulators engage the first insulator to come close to each other and thereby allow the clamp and the second insulator to hold the flat cable therebetween, whereby the flat cable is connected to the contact with the flat cable held.
