A computer system has a display, a memory (storage) system, a processor and connection mechanism which links the display, the processor and the memory together. The memory system is coded with a resource management application, which generates a process which contains a graphical application in order to represent a resource in a computer system environment, for enabling the computer system to carry out operations, such as generating an object in the memory system, assigning an object identifier to the object, representing at least one version of the object on the graphical user interface (GUI), and when a regional or home condition exists for at least one representation of the object, the representation of the object contains the location (home) of the object which is represented on the GUI.
